Woodmen of the World​

Honey Grove Signal, December 6, 1918

​A large crowd was present at the meeting of the Woodmen Lodge Tuesday night, it being the time for the election of officers.  Two candidates were initiated into the mysteries of the order.  Officers were elected for the ensuing year as follows: H. L. Thompson, C.C.; J. W. Wicks, A.L.; J. D. Scott, Banker; I. M. Davis, Clerk; Charles Hoffman, Escort; L. A. Vineyard, Watchman, Ray Sebastian, Sentry; J. T. Richardson, Manager.

Rev. A. L. Barr, a charter member of the lodge, which was organized twenty-six years ago, transferred his membership back to the old home lodge.  The lodge now  has a membership of 380.

 "At the meeting of the Woodmen of the World Tuesday night the following officers were elected: Avery Young, C.C.; George Laswell, A. L.;  J. D. Scott, Banker; H. C. McConnell, Clerk; George David, Escort; W. H. Simmons, Sentry; B. R. Wheeler, Watchman; J. Tal Richardson, Auditor."

Knights of Pythias

At their meeting last Thursday night the Knights of Pythias elected the following directors:

Friends of Temperance

A notice in the August 20, 1870 issue of The Enterprise states that the Friends of Temperance meets every Tuesday nite at the Masonic Hall.  Another temperance organization was the Band of Home, which in 1870 met at the Masonic Hall on Sundays.

A notice in the August 20, 1870 issue of The Enterprise states that ​I. O. O. F.  Honey Grove Lodge, No. 91, meets every Wednesday night at the Masonic Hall.
